The Spaniards' second album is strongly inspired by (teutonic) power/speed metal from the 80s.
WHIRLWIND are mainly influenced by '80s German metal bands like early Running Wild, early Helloween, Accept, Heaven's Gate, Gravestone, Grave Digger and Stormwitch, but also classic heavy metal like Mercyful Fate and Judas Priest.
WHIRLWIND deliver a masterclass in cruising, classy Teutonic metal, running from more traditional-minded mid-tempo stompers to surging, up-tempo gallops of glory.
