-sophisticated hard rock and heavy metal from 1988 -first CD re-release (outside South America) since 1990 -first vinyl re-release -CD contains the debut album “Veto” as a bonus (LP contains three bonus tracks) -freshly remastered, liner notes, many illustrations VETO from southern Germany started out in the early eighties as a hard rock band with German lyrics. After a few line-up changes and a reorientation towards English-language heavy metal, they were signed to the GAMA company (label: Scratch). Due to the lack of a drummer, one of the two label bosses took over this position personally: Peter Garattoni. The debut “Veto” was released in 1986 and was well received by fans and the press. They went on to play with bands such as Saxon, Vengeance, Lee Aaron, Warlock, Sinner and Grave Digger. The second album “Carthago” was recorded in the Zuckerfabrik studio in Stuttgart and is now one of the absolute insider tips of the German metal scene. Not only was the band itself equipped with above-average skills, they were also able to convince with gripping songs between hard rock and speed metal. Plus a crisp and powerful production that many a major label didn't offer back then. With the title track “Carthago”, VETO also succeeded in creating an epic masterpiece. The announcement of a high-quality re-release of “Carthago” on Golden Core has already caused a stir in the metal scene and generated positive reactions on social media. The remastered CD contains the entire debut album “Veto” as a bonus, as well as the rare and exciting drum solo “Thunderstorm” by Peter Garattoni, which can be found as a Veto song on a now rare metal compilation from the nineties. The LP, mastered separately for vinyl, contains two songs from the debut and “Thunderstorm” as a bonus. Both formats include liner notes and many rare illustrations.
