The Browns Scarlet Ribbons: The Singles Collection 1954-62
Family group The Browns had one of the most distinctively polished sounds in an era that saw the popularisation of country music. The Browns were a family vocal trio comprising Jim Edward Brown and his sisters Maxine and Bonnie, who had a string of country hits in the USA through the late '50s and early '60s. They were, of course, best known for their worldwide smash hit The Three Bells, the poignant story if Little Jimmy Brown, which was a US pop No.1 in 1959. Alongside top Nashville session players and the incredible production skills of Chet Atkins, their close harmonies were polished and became some of the iconic recordings from the early days of Atkins' Nashville Sound This collection celebrates the family by featuring all of their hit singles from 1954-62 alongside carefully selected tracks showcasing the trio's tremendous talents.
