He is often recognized for his guitar playing (subtle arpeggios and finger-picking) and his singing, which is imbued with a luminous melancholy. However, his songwriting talents are sometimes overlooked. Like an impressionist painter, he captures and draws inspiration from the atmosphere of his everyday life. His compositions are nomadic, each one a story, a postcard. Raoul Vignal's new album Shadow Bands once again showcases that stripped-down, crystalline poetry that quietly finds its way into our hearts.
