Pillow Queens In Waiting
'In Waiting' is the debut album by Pillow Queens, Ireland's most pressing indie rock band, and the result of four years of brotherly love of a sisterly unit. Appears as LP on STARGAZER RECORDS. In their home country of Ireland and the UK, Pamela Connolly (Voc, Git, Bass), Sarah Corcoran (Voc, Git, Bass), Rachel Lyons (Drums, Voc) and Cathy McGuiness (Git, Voc) have long since the Pillow Queens were founded in 2016. In 2019 they were awarded the 'Women Of The Year Award' in the Music category, their song 'Gay Girls' was directly echoed by BBC's Steve Lamacq and immediately became a queer anthem. In their relatively short lifespan as a band, they have already released 2 EPs, played at several festivals in the UK and Ireland and have served as support for Pussy Riot, Idles, Two Door Cinema Club and Future Islands. The events that are currently shaking the world are stirring a fire in the Pillow Queens, a band inspired by a Dublin that is not alien to the fight against social injustice. Pillow Queens' songs, which are about togetherness and unity, sound louder than ever. Waiting. Waiting for an empathic revolution. Waiting for the end of capitalism and the beginning of something real and true. Waiting for populist opinionmaking to die out and authenticity to find appreciation. Waiting for lost loved ones to return and form delicate relationships, for small cracks in families to heal and larger cracks in unjust systems.
