JuJu Muzik proudly announces the release of “Counting Clouds”, the latest work from Chicago icon Harry Dennis, a foundational voice whose poetic storytelling has shaped the sound and soul of House music for over three decades. Renowned for his pioneering contributions to Jungle Wonz, The IT, and Fingers Inc., Dennis continues to deepen the emotional and narrative possibilities of House music, bridging Chicago’s roots with today’s global underground.
“Counting Clouds” arrives with a diverse and highly regarded lineup of producers, each offering their own interpretation:
Track 1:
Julian Garnett, owner of JuJu Muzik, provides his own interpretation of “Counting Clouds”, continuing a long-standing creative partnership with Harry Dennis since their debut collaboration, "Press Reset" in 2022 . Garnett’s history includes collaborations with both Dennis and New York dance-music pioneer Freddy Bastone aka Corporation Of One, as well as his own acclaimed productions such as K-Town, which was selected for the first Bandcamp Weekly show of 2025, by Andrew Jervis. His contribution underscores JuJu Muzik’s dedication to authentic, artist-led House music rooted in both history and innovation.
Track 2:
Rob Redford & Damian Charles join forces for a collaborative rework merging Redford’s groove-focused production with Charles’s musical sensibility and presence as a broadcaster on London's Point Blank Radio. Redford’s catalogue, including releases on X-Trax, Boogie Café, Local Talk and Beyond Tomorrow, pairs seamlessly with Damian’s London-driven perspective - resulting in a contemporary, deep-soulful interpretation, while subtly nodding to the past, through elements that echo the spirit of the classic Jungle Wonz sound.
Track 3:
Mark Hand returns to JuJu Muzik following his acclaimed remix of “Infinitely”. A member of Soulstatejazz and a versatile musician with releases on Freerange, Uzuri Recordings, Noir & Blanche and several other respected underground House imprints, Hand’s deep musicianship, jazz-rooted sensibility, and emotional nuance bring a deep and warm touch to the project.
Track 4:
Rude Boy Rupert of Chilli Funk Records contributes a mix shaped by his unique fusion of broken-beat, funk, soul, and the unmistakable character of the UK underground. A resident DJ at Garage City since the early 90s, Rupert has long been a fixture of London’s club scene, bringing decades of experience and musical intuition to the decks. His version of “Counting Clouds” reflects this deep-rooted understanding of rhythm and groove, combining timeless UK house sensibilities with a fresh, forward-looking energy.
“Counting Clouds” stands as a meeting of innovators from Chicago to the UK - an intergenerational, cross-Atlantic celebration of House music culture, brought together under the JuJu Muzik banner.
