Geoff Achison Sovereign Town

Sovereign Town' is a vibrant set of mostly original compositions from Australian singer-songwriter and gifted guitarist Geoff Achison. Produced by Achison and Ric Formosa, the album presents an acoustically oriented, intimate, organic and decidedly song-driven collection of 12 tracks inspired by the early days of Victorias gold rush. Recorded for Achisons Jupiter 2 Records at Formosas Pilgrimage Studio in Ballarat, Victoria, it represents his 15th release as a solo artist. For this project Achison used a selection of tunes and stories written for a small combo that includes Andrew Fry (Upright Bass), Dave Clark (Drums) and Liam Kealy (Organ). Down Beat magazine described his music as catchy, intelligent songwriting he spills out blues guitar phrases that shed further light on various emotional states.
