Freddie Steady Krc is an award-winning Austin, Texas based artist. This Texas Music Hall of Famer has "thrown a wide loop" musically for decades of his storied, genre-jumping musical career. His music has taken him around the globe from Austin to Aberdeen, Luckenbach to London, and beyond. All that travel has led him back to his Texas musical roots and it's on full display with his newest release, "Pass that Jug!" After years of critically acclaimed work with his own groups, new wave-punk rock-power poppers The Explosives, the electric western folk-rock of Shakin' Apostles, the garage rockin' Freddie Steady 5 and the Texas/Americana gumbo of Freddie's Wild Country, he's seemingly hit pay dirt again with his new release titled, "Pass that Jug!" Also known for his work with legendary artists Jerry Jeff Walker, Roky Erickson, Roger Waters, Ronnie Lane, Augie Meyers, Carole King, and many others, Freddie brings all his experiences and influences to his own music on his new recording. It offers an intoxicating mix of rock, country, blues, folk and gospel.
The new album includes some of Austin's finest musicians: Freddie's longtime band-mate and Explosives co-founder Cam King plays lead guitar. Lloyd Maines plays pedal steel guitar, dobro and mandolin. Floyd Domino plays keyboards, Howard Kalish plays fiddle. Freddie's longtime friend and road guitarist David Hargraves plays slide guitar on a track and Freddie's former Jerry Jeff Walker band-mate John Inmon brought his considerable guitar skills to a track. Freddie's secret weapon is Layton DePenning. This legendary Austin, TX talent brought his skills as recording engineer, bass guitarist, six string guitarist, and backing vocalist.
All songs were written or co-written by Freddie Steady except one written by Chris Gantry. Cover art by one of Austin's best visual artists, Billy Perkins. "I can't yodel and I can't cut a rug 'til I get me a swig so Pass that Jug!'
