'World Inversion' finds Flying Vipers reconstructing their latest album, 'Off World' - in both strange & familiar ways; the hallmarks of classic dub versions are there, but there's also special guest spots from Earl Sixteen and Mission of Burma's Roger Miller. Ten tracks (including one brand new instrumental) of twisting rhythms and fleeting melodies, extending the journey through their off-beat world, which Bandcamp called 'a psychedelic dub masterpiece'. Largely comprised of original compositions, three covers encapsulate the lyrical and musical themes found throughout the LP: an alienation anthem from Northwest punk pioneers Wipers; the instrumental theme from the cult classic animated film La Planete Sauvage (featuring the acclaimed jazz harpist Brandee Younger); and most likely the first dubwise Sun Ra tribute. Through it all the drum and bass anchor the music, helping listeners to hold their ground and to guide an escape into sonic space. Fang white vinyl edition, limited to 200 copies.
