Calvin Keys Shawn-Neeq
Calvin's 1971 debut for Black Jazz Records heralded the arrival of a new jazz guitar star. Already esteemed for his work with organists Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff and Jack McDuff, Calvin teamed with pianist Larry Nash on this album (Larry had played with Bill Withers, Etta James and many others). Calvin went on to become a Bay Area jazz fixture; his journey started with "Criss Cross," "Gee-Gee," "B.K.," the title cut and the rest of this early-'70s gem!
