Born in Hamburg, Bert Kaempfert was one of Germany's most successful orchestra leaders. He is considered one of the inventors of the so-called "Easy Listening" music. In 1961 with his title "Wonderland By Night" Bert Kaempfert became the first German to reach number 1 on the US single charts.
