Love And Car Radio is my 13th Album, so why not have 13 songs on it? Thirteen different characters, alone in their cars, on a ride on one of those lonesome highways, perhaps somewhere in America. It's quite possibly around midnight, and they're listening to music from a local radio station. Lost in thoughts and dreams. One beat and one chord is all it takes, driving down a lonesome highway, the car radio on. Ingredients: vocals, folky and bluesy acoustic guitars, bone-dry and spacey electric guitars, bass, drums. I'd like to thank Daniel Lanois for his ongoing encouragement, a special guitar tuning, and for giving me a word of advice on the lyric of the song 'I'm A Dreamer'. I made the album in 2022, a quite challenging year for so many people across this sweet old shuffling and shifting world. Yes, I love acoustic delay as an effect in my music, I use it all the time. But a delay in vinyl delivery in real life really threw things off. Who wants to read 'train departure delayed' when one is standing on the platform, ready to go? Anyway, that's the reason why Love And Car Radio comes in close succession to my current album Run Run Run, which has only been out for a couple of months now. I recorded it while I was waiting for the Run Run Run-Vinyls. The riding of the bicycle never stops! Run Run Run was about what was in my mind and heart in 2021. In 2022, Love And Car Radio was what I puttered around with. And I would like to share it with you.
