Where the Monet-flavored stylings of their 2016 debut The Watercolors (King Deluxe) leaned on sun-stained Indie inclinations and shadowed self-portraits, Sinking Ship draws closer to Matisse, with a stylistic multiplicity that coalesces into verbose vistas of willowing Post-Pop. Likened to Lemon Jelly, Bibio, and Goldfrapp, YGT has seen praise from KCRW, XLR8R, NTS Radio, Tiny Mix Tapes, and Vice.
