Ursus Bachthaler Mr. Vertigo - "23 Meditations"
Ursus Bachthaler: stratocaster player, windcatcher, waverider, poem-writer!
Four years have passed since the release of Mr.Vertigo's first album “Hope - against better judgement”. Our little blue planet is rapidly changing into an increasingly dysfunctional place in which our species plays the sad role of the restless, driven accelerant. Welcome to the sixth mass extinction! While the tone, the basic sound of the “Hope - against better judgement” album was rather melancholy and dark, often wild, but sometimes also tenderly rebelling against the impending doom, the follow-up album “23 Meditations” has become a little more cheerful and stylistically (even) more colorful overall despite the steadily dwindling hope. What has remained is the will to tell musical stories in the form of artfully arranged songs, without neglecting the long solo arcs and the musical journeys created together in the moment. And the dense, vibrant interplay between our two drummers Daniel Mudrack and Florian “FloW” Haas and our bassist Marco Maria Nenniger has remained the same.
