Tom Smith There Is Nothing in the Dark That Isn't There in the Light - Maroon

Pre-order vinyl:

Maroon Vinyl. Best known as the voice of Editors for two decades, Tom Smith steps into the spotlight alone for the first time, revealing a more intimate, organic side than fans may be used to. Having taken inspiration from stripped down honest songwriting, Tom delivers a masterfully crafted album filled with orchestral strings and warm acoustics. There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn't There In The Light sees Smith reconnect with producer Iain Archer, whom he's previously worked with as part of the Tired Pony project with Peter Buck (R.E.M.) and Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol). Across 10 songs, the record moves from the hushed, Nick Drake-like fingerpicking of "Broken Time," to the widescreen anthem "Life Is For Living," and the late-night shimmer of the "Lights of New York City". Closing with "Saturday," the album ultimately leaves you with a feeling of hope, a reminder of the strength that we can find in one another, and the knowledge that when the darkness does finally recede, the light reveals what's always been there.
