The God Catchers is a trio from Austin TX with aggressive rhythms and tense compositions. Their debut album Time To Go is 10 exciting songs for you
The God Catchers is a trio from Austin TX specializing in aggressive and interesting compositions. This group of quinquagenarians has trained for years to release this tension in the form of electric rock music and is captured herein doing just that; their debut album Time To Go is a study in creative bursts and riffs accompanied by the shouting of guitarist Geoff Lasch (Militant Babies, Shindigs, Tarare). Drummer extraordinaire Craig Nichols (El No, Shesus, Bellringer) hammers down repetitive blows that lock the listener into a trance while the gurgling bass from Bryan Nelson (Peglegasus, Gorch Fock, Tarare) oozes out from between the floorboards and sticks between your toes. The guitars from Lasch explore and punish as they guide the upper frequencies through careful consideration and expertise, sticking with familiar progressions that later set the stage for exploratory adventures in electric victory.
Each song carries the theme of how sensitive people may be able escape the terrestrial world and explores the lengths they will go to achieve it. One sect believes that their elevated pulse can be a beacon and another that their noise can be turned into a light that will reach the outer limits through sonoluminescence. Yet another imaginary sect of believers modify their eyesight with 102 laser burns to "open" them so they can see the otherwise invisible ships that will arrive soon.
They don't know how it will end nor who will join them but they will be ready when it's time to go.
