The fourth and latest record by THE CRYPTEX titled NIMBUS, releasing on September 29th 2023 via Phonotraxx/Broken Silence, brings you an untamed mix of rock, pop, alternative, metal, art and prog rock. With a surprising and unexpected musical finesse that brings a certain feel of self consciousness. NIMBUS is the exquisite distilled essence under the professional merge of THE CRYPTEX Members Simon Moskon, André Jean Henri Mertens, David Silesu, Markus Kleiner and the Limetree Studios. The boisterous diversity indwelling THE CRYPTEX can be heard vividly in songs like SOMANOID, NIMBUS, THE DAY WE WILL MEET AGAIN or COBRA, proving once again how independent the creativity of the band flourishes and let's the listener dream of lands unseen. Simon Moskon demonstrates his broad pallet of intellectual and analytic emotions throughout the lyrics, allowing the listener to fully grasp the complexity of our deepest inner workings. The album also aims to remind the listener about the long forgotten emotions that seem to judge the world and everything around it relentlessly as they imagine the song to be about themselves. With lines like Psychonauts are brewing liquor, grim and dark to praise my demons (as in SON OF FORTUNE) THE CRYPTEX presents the abysmal influences sleeping deep down in all of us. But even the classic Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll debauchery isn't cut too short. Representative for that stands the song SUGARLEAF with lines like Everyone is looking out for me to praise the day, I tried it out with porn but I have failed to masturbate. THE CRYPTEX brings new songs that are as brutal and raw as never before, no compromises made. Filled with anger, rebellion, despair, tragedy, hate, sadness, cynicism, love but at the same time open minded, grim and dark. Wrapped in vibrant compositions dwelling to break free and animate the listener to scream to their heart's content in a way only this band is able to convey in a credible way.
