Starstruck - „Thru‘ To You“ – NOW ON VINYL! Once again Golden Core successfully brings to light a forgotten pearl from the German Metal Underground, even if the word hard rock would be just as appropriate in this case. 1984 veröffentlichte die Band STARSTRUCK aus Karlsruhe ihr einziges musikalische Lebenszeichen: Die LP „Thru´ To You“. Geographically, the band was located quite close to GAMA Records, which was based in Kirchheim/Teck and recognised the potential of the group, which was already popular in the region. The disc was recorded at Spygel Studio with support of engineer Batze Kramer. That Batze Kramer, who already refined cult discs by bands like Tyrant, Stormwitch, Bloody Six, Vampyr, Gravestone, Restless or Necronomicon! „Thru‘ To You“ is pure zeitgeist reflected by the music as well as by the cover, which on closer examination shows a lot of humour. Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Heidelberg - melodic heavy metal has always been more popular in this metropolitan area than in the Ruhr or the north. Only Munich also became known for its tendency towards AOR. Starstruck skilfully play the golden mean between toughness and radio-friendliness, which could have become a formula for success given the well-arranged songs and the playing skills. Unfortunately, GAMA was not able to promote the album adequately. At least it was also licensed by Mausoleum (Belgium) a year later, and then also on CD for the first time in 1990 (Aurophon, Brainstorm series). Golden Core already drew attention to Starstruck in 2021, when one of their tracks became part of the compilation „Sound & Action - Rare German Heavy Metal & Hardrock Vol. 1“. Now, for the first time, a remastered version of the iconic album will be available on CD, and later that year also on vinyl. Finally!
