The third studio album from the influential Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura, Beneath The Remains was released on April 7, 1989. Produced bythe band and Scott Burns, it was their first release for Roadrunner Records. Itsaw them move away from their earlier, black metal inspired sound to one thattook on elements of death metal, thrash, as well as adopting influences fromBlack Sabbath and Corrosion of Conformity.
