Sacrifice On The Altar Of Rock
Switzerland also had (and still has) a lot to offer in terms of hard music. Sacrifice from Délemont was already founded in 1982 and drew attention two years later with a now very rare EP. The catchy arranged mix of heavy metal and hard rock was not only well received nationwide, but also called the German company GAMA on the scene, who released the debut "On The Altar Of Rock" on their label Camel in 1985. In good condition, collectors today have to reckon with 50 euros and more to purchase the original LP with the tasteful cover. In 1990 a CD of the record was released (Aurophon). In 1991 they recorded another album under the name Jade, which turned more to hard rock. "Encyclopedia Metallum" lists the band as Heavy/Power Metal and with that you are right, at least for the year 1985. For many years the LP remained unnoticed, but with the advent of the Internet and social media got more and more (young) fans. So a CD version of the album is released by a South American company, while Golden Core re-releases the vinyl. This re-release was made in collaboration with some former band members, so a printed inlay with liner notes and photos was possible. Despite the bonus tracks, the playing time has remained at a level that guarantees the best possible sound quality. The track "Little Killer Man" was released in late 2020 on the double CD "The Best Of And The Rare Of GAMA Records" released by Golden Core and got a mention in numerous reviews.
