QUARTZ Satan´s Serenade/Nantucket Sleighride LP, limited to 300 copies LP enthält zwei Inlays Quartz is not only one of the oldest active metal bands, but also belong to the founding fathers of the NWOBHM. Together with Samson and Marseilles they swept aside the hip punk movement of the late seventies, while being kind of vanguard to Iron Maiden or Saxon, even before the term „New Wave Of British Heavy Metal“ was coined a little later. In 1977, the debut album „Quartz“, strongly reminiscent of Black Sabbath and later marketed a second time as „Deleted“, was released on Jet Records (Ozzy Osbourne among others). In 1980 they switched to the next industry giant: MCA. In the same year, they released the LP „Stand Up And Fight“. Both albums are popular classics today, but in between these releases there was an exciting period, resulting in two singles and a live LP. And of course Quartz‘s signature song: „Satan Ìs Serenade“! In between the impressive major deals, the small label Reddington Ìs Rare Records took care of the band. As the name gives it away, it‘s actually a record shop, which is directly reminiscent of Metal Blade and Brian Slagel. You can notice the attention to detail: „Satan Ìs Serenade“ was released as a 12“ in red vinyl, while „Nantucket Sleighride“ was a 7“ single, which was released in five versions (coloured vinyl and red or black cover). This positive madness was topped with a clear 7“ flexidisc that was distributed as promocopy. Incidentally, RRR were also responsible for Paralex and Mayday. Golden Core is extremely proud to present both legendary RRR singles now as a 12“ EP (playing time: 25:47) in a limited edition of 300 copies. The LP includes a printed inlay and a reprint of the „Nantucket Sleighride“ single (on paper). Liner notes include a recent, exclusive interview with drummer Malcolm Cope! The original singles were overdubbed and audio-cleaned by Patrick Engel, then remastered by Neudi and adapted to the medium vinyl by Vadim Kulin (ZYX Studio). A unique collector‘s item!
