Following Plattenbau’s 3rd album Net Prophet [Dedstrange 2023] comes their heaviest work yet, their 4th studio album: CURSED, released on Dedstrange [2025].

“Communion in rage against a collapsing reality.”

CURSED finds the band descending into darker waters, where elements of doom, hardcore, and dungeon synth intertwine, cut with the blade of their signature sound. The record explores the prevailing crises of our times: a creeping return to feudalism, where rival warlords devastate populations and ecosystems for personal gain, leaving powerless serfs to pick through the wreckage. It confronts the contradictions of relative privilege, the inertia of being stuck in our own loops, and the gnawing dread of watching the world burn from behind a glowing screen.

The singles chart this descent: “Held in a Curse” pulls us into a fortress of ghost-punk - sludge bass and triumphant dungeon synths conjuring a medieval moshpit where paranoia and ecstasy collide. “Hell Screen” throws us headlong into the dopamine furnace, a blast of doomy bass, thrashing beats, and horror synths mirroring the chaos of our overstimulated age. “Offshore” soundtracks a yacht-party nightmare turned shipwreck, while hardcore beats and evil bass accompany the sinking chant of late-capitalist treasure lost at sea.

And yet, despite the dread, CURSED refuses despair. It is not a funeral march but an invitation: rage becomes ritual, noise becomes release, dance becomes defiance. This is Plattenbau at their most visceral, emboldened by sonic extremity, and truer than ever to their company slogan: “tight, loose and evil™.”
