When Pearl Harbour & the Explosions' new wave/punk pop didn't take off, their singer's future seemed uncertain: Who could have predicted that she'd pull off such a rowdy, confident rockin' solo album? However, that's what happened when she moved to London in 1980 and fell into the Clash's orbit eventually marrying bass player Paul Simenon. The original album is an overlooked classic recording of 1960s girl group and rockabilly sounds that features Simenon with Clash members Mick Jones and Topper Headon along with Dr. Feelgood's Wilko Johnson, Mickey Gallagher from Ian Dury's Blockheads and Steve New of The Rich Kids. The re-released color vinyl pressing features a new album cover and has been expanded to 17 tracks (the CD has an additional 2 bonus tracks) including her version of Lavern Baker's Voodoo Voodoo, b-sides and demos. A publicity campaign promoting the re-release with Pearl's participation is planned to create awareness of the re-release.
