Ola's debut for Herbert's Accidental, 'EP3' marks the start of a new phase for the York, UK-based singer-composer after her Kieran Hebden-compiled, James Kelly-starring first couple of self-released EPs brought her to wider attention in 2017. Using only her voice, layered and processed into vaporous harmonies and thizzing textures, Ola only gets deeper into her personalised soundworld here, subtly drawing from pools of jazz-wise torch song and experimental songcraft to create what she terms "open-hearted" paeans in fully formed but humbly and breezily open-ended structures that leave lots to the imagination.
