Recorded in 1967 but not released until 1978, Lee Morgan's The Procrastinator stands in hindsight as one of the monumental achievements of the trumpeter's prolific late-60s output. Featuring a phenomenal sextet with Wayne Shorter, Bobby Hutcherson, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Billy Higgins, the date produced sublime performances of six pieces by Morgan and Shorter.
