Koji Ueno Okinawan Childai
This album was composed for the feature film 'Untama Giru' (1989, distributed by Parco), directed by Go Takamine, a filmmaker from Ishigaki Island, Okinawa. The music diverges from traditional Ryukyuan folk melodies to depict an atmosphere of intense languor and liberating scenery. It can be described as a piece of 'strange ambient music,' portraying an imaginary Okinawa filled with aesthetic charm. For this vinyl release, three bonus tracks have been newly added: the piano version of the film's main theme 'Untama Giru' (from the 1999 album 'Piano Music'), and 'Mekaru's Room' and 'Machibui Vortex' from the film 'Mugen Ryuku: Tsuru Henry ' directed by Go Takamine. This masterpiece, which fans of electronic music, New Age, and Okinawan-Ryukyuan folk music will want to explore, is being released under Disk Union's new label, Flowmango, ready to captivate a broad audience.Tracklist:A1.
