Killer Whale Tastes Like Yesterday
Tastes Like Yesterday is the third album from New Orleans-based Killer Whale and their debut for Devil In The Woods. Previous records focused on a folk and hazy Southern rock with a dash of soul, but this outing finds frontman Thomas Johnson going all-out with his soulful crooning. Lead single Canopy wonderfully demonstrates this rock/soul hybrid for the sophisticated new sound that it is, and the rest of Tastes Like Yesterday follows suit. Produced by Spooky Mansion's Grayson Converse and longtime Killer Whale associate Scott Sibley, Tastes Like Yesterday represents a fantastic maturation of an already sophisticated sound.
