Born to Czechoslovakian parents on January 18, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois (and sadly deceased as a result of breast cancer in Encino, California on August 15, 1978), singer Irene Kral was pianist Roy Kral's younger sister. Irene sang with bands on tours led by Woody Herman and Chubby Jackson and worked with Maynard Ferguson, Stan Kenton and Shelly Manne.
