Advent of Suffering is the debut full-length from Houston death metal band Haserot, delivering riff-driven death metal rooted in the 90s tradition.
Houston, Texas death metal band Haserot return with their debut full-length album, Advent of Suffering. Formed in 2019 by guitarists Brandon Johnson and Maurice Eggenschwiler (Doomstress), the band draws from the rich legacy of 1990s death metal while incorporating modern songwriting and production.
Featuring members of several established Houston underground acts, including Benjamin Yaker (Sanctus Bellum), Cryptos Grimm (Spectral Manifest), and Justin McKittrick (Scrollkeeper), Haserot deliver a riff-driven blend of crushing mid-tempo grooves, dark atmosphere, and melodic lead guitar work. Their sound channels the spirit of classic death metal while maintaining a strong focus on memorable structure and musicianship.
Following their debut EP Throne of Malice, which introduced the band to the underground death metal scene, Advent of Suffering expands upon that foundation with a heavier and more refined approach. The album was once again mixed and mastered by legendary Swedish musician and producer Dan Swanö, known for his work with Edge of Sanity, Bloodbath, and numerous classic extreme metal releases.
The record also features special guest appearances from legendary guitarists James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament) and Andy LaRocque (King Diamond), adding further depth to Haserot's crushing and melodic approach.
With Advent of Suffering, Haserot deliver a powerful debut album that bridges the traditions of classic death metal with modern execution. For fans of Morbid Angel, Entombed, Dismember and Carcass.
