Epic neo‑prog, powerful guitars, rich keyboards, imaginative stories -- Green Desert Tree return with their 2nd Album "Fighting Dragons".

Finally, it's here: the long-awaited second album from GREEN DESERT TREE.

With their first album, "Progressive Worlds," Green Desert Tree already made a lasting impression on the prog world in 2019. The Berlin band led by mastermind Tim Sund (keyboardist for Krautrock legends Agitation Free, among others) proved that contemporary neo-prog from Germany need not hide behind the international competition in terms of musical quality and originality. Experts had noticed a new star in the prog sky. But just as GDT was about to take to the international festival stages, the band's plans were thwarted by COVID-19.

This involuntary interruption of all activities also brought about a few personnel changes, with former bassist Sascha Giebel becoming the lead singer and Italian bassist Francesco Beccaro joining the band.

The new album FIGHTING DRAGONS picks up exactly where the debut was so celebrated and captivates with playful prog keyboard intros, intricate melodies, heavy guitars, imaginative storytelling, vocal harmonies, symphonic grandeur, microscopic attention to detail, classically inspired passages in rock garb, and at times very powerful parts.

The songs on the new album are a collection of stories told by the "storyteller." One song, for example, is about a woman mourning her fiancé, who suddenly disappears without a trace on the eve of their wedding. Another song is about a computer game-addicted teenager who believes he is a knight who must protect his kingdom from dangerous dragons.

What unites all of GDT's music is a quality of storytelling reminiscent of bands such as early Genesis, Yes, and Saga, as well as contemporary artists such as Neal Morse and Steven Wilson, combined with a huge spectrum of musical influences and great instrumental virtuosity.

With the release of their second album, "Fighting Dragons," Green Desert Tree will finally do what should have happened long ago: conquer the stage and play their way into the hearts of prog fans.
