Kuopio-based band Dear Moon will release their second full-length album Dark Miles on Friday, August 15, 2025. The album will be available both on vinyl (LP) and across all major digital streaming platforms. It will be released through Eclipse Music under the catalogue number ELP‑202574.
Stylistically, Dark Miles marks a confident evolution in Dear Moon's artistic trajectory. The album blends elements of alternative rock, electronic textures and melodic introspection into a cohesive whole. It draws from early-2000s British guitar music while embracing a distinctly contemporary urban sonic palette. Rich in layers, emotionally resonant and sonically ambitious, Dark Miles presents a mature and refined musical statement.
The album was mixed by American producer D. James Goodwin, known for his collaborations with Finnish alternative acts such as Lapko and Rubik. Goodwin's touch brings an international sheen and nuanced clarity to the record, positioning Dark Miles firmly within the landscape of modern high-fidelity independent music.
The release is preceded by three singles: Down (autumn 2024), Sonic Age (February 2025), and the title track Dark Miles. Each of these songs has been accompanied by a music video, further enhancing the visual identity of the project. In addition, a standalone video was released for the track Hello, adding another visual dimension to the album's narrative world.
To mark the album's release, Dear Moon will perform in their hometown of Kuopio on Saturday, August 16. The event is headlined by internationally acclaimed indie band NEØV, bringing together two respected names from Finland's alternative music scene.
