HHBTM Records presents 'Split' a split 12 featuring two of the post punk / mutant disco's most exciting bands Glasgow, Scotland's Dancer and Portland, Oregon's Whisper Hiss. Both bands give six tracks on their side of the 12. The record comes in a triple color screen-printed sleeve, download card, and insert. Songs about consumerism and loss of identity with a solid dance beat with hints of Talking Heads world view, Pylon's rhythmic drive, and the stark minimalism of Young Marble Giants. This release came about from label being pitched doing a 7 by Whisper Hiss and the same day discovering Dancer via some reviews on line and just reaching out to see if they would be interested in doing a record. Both bands had just 3 songs available at the time and it was too long to make it a split 12 but too short for a proper EP. So we asked to see if both bands would record three more songs each and make it a proper split 12. Both Dancer and Whisper Hiss shared music and became instant mutual fans and the connection grew from there. This release is the 2024 HHBTM handmade release in which the label does all the artwork and printing by hand. The sleeve is a fold-over matchbook style sleeve with a three color screen-print. The middle labels are hand stamped, and it comes with an old school xerox insert and digital download.
