Coming Down's newest album "Curve" is filled with DC-style punk in the vein of bands like Swiz, Fiddlehead, or Fucked Up

Coming Down are a group of close friends that have been playing music together in various bands for nearly two decades. Each member has spent the majority of their lives immersed in various punk bands around the Rochester, NY area and continue to make music together between the very grown-up factors of family and business.
Coming Down began after the dissolution of local hardcore band Like Wolves. Former guitarist Jon Garwood had been playing with Surroundings in the Baltimore area for a couple years and then returned to Rochester where he hooked up with ex-bandmates Phil Speed and Max Quattrociocci to start a project in a similar vein. Despite staying very busy with owning a business and raising a family vocalist Rory Van Grol was approached to sing for the band. Having an extensive history of fronting some of the best bands to ever emerge from the Flower City (Achilles, Standfast, How We Are, as well as a long stint with Providence's Soul Control) it was a natural fit seeing as all the members varied bands had spent years playing together, touring together, going to each others weddings, sharing fantasy football leagues, whatever, you get the idea. They're all tight.
As for the music? Coming Down began with a very DC-centric style of Swiz-influenced rocking hardcore punk. That particular strain of punk continues on their newest album, "Curve", though you'll find melodic nods to the likes of Fucked Up, Title Fight, Fiddlehead, and even Hot Snakes wouldn't be outside the conversation either.
They do so with a deep emotional outpouring through the lyrics and music, from the resentment of being complicit in a perpetual war abroad by being a citizen of this country on "Death On Our Hands", to parental worry on whether or not you're doing the right thing on "Doubt" it's urgent and beautiful music, energized and impactful. It's also pretty fun. get down with Coming Down.
