Apolaustic was formed by former Stortregn vocalist/guitarist Romain Negro as an outlet for him to express his personal vision. At once scathing and stirring, the sharp, insistent riffs go hand in hand with elegant melodies that never outstay their welcome. The aggression and poignancy is beautifully managed with plenty of variations provided to highlight those motions at the right times. After experiencing the turmoil of life, the aching pain in the melodies is all too palpable.
