Acda en de Munnik is the Dutch cabaret and music duo consisting of Thomas Acda and Paul de Munnik. Their lyrics primarily focus on love, the beach, youth, and life. On the album Acda en de Munnik, we first meet Herman in their debut single, 'Als Het Vuur Gedoofd Is. ' It tells the story of Herman, who reflects on his life up to that point and concludes that everything has turned out differently than he had hoped, despite having a wife, child, house, car, and job. The album also includes AEDM classics such as 'Walk Until The Sun Comes,' 'Vondelpark Tonight,' and the now-famous cover of the Jacques Brel song 'De Stad Amsterdam. ' 'Mooi Liedje' (Beautiful Song) is perhaps the most emotional song on the album, in which Paul de Munnik intimately expresses the pain and loneliness after a breakup. Acda en de Munnik is available in a limited edition of 1000 copies on Crystal Clear vinyl and includes an insert with lyrics.
