Track 1 - “Two Magnets”
Recorded in the spring of 2023 by Chris Baglivo at Front Porch Studios in Pittsburgh, PA and Jamtown in Philadelphia, PA. An alternate version of this song appears on Maxwell Stern’s record In The Good Light, released August 9, 2024 by Lauren Records.
Tracks 2 and 3 - “Milkcrate” and “Stale Air”
Recorded in the fall of 2011 by Adam Wagner at Bad Racket Studios in Cleveland, OH. This song originally appeared on a split 7” with French Exit, released on January 17, 2012 by On The Real Records and Solidarity Recordings. Long live VLHS.
Tracks 4 and 10 - “Caricature (alt. version)” and “Astronaut”
Recorded in the summer of 2012 by Eric Muth at Bad Racket Studios in Cleveland, OH. These songs originally appeared on a split 7” with Worship This! released by Mayfly Records (US) and Team Beard Records (UK) on April 30, 2013. “Astronaut” was written by Worship This! and originally appears on their first demo, released January 20, 2011. We later re-recorded “Caricature” for our November 2013 LP Light On The Lake.
Tracks 5 and 9 - “Forward, Never Straight! (Pt. 2)” and “Call the Amberlamps”
Recorded in the spring of 2011 during the Latitudes and Longitudes LP sessions by Adam Wagner at Bad Racket Studios in Cleveland, OH. These songs originally appeared on a split 7” with Shady Ave. released by Lock and Key Collective and Great Friends Records on October 22, 2011. Rest in peace to Scott Jones.
Track 6 - “Wizard of Loneliness”
Recorded in November 2020 during the “DENT” LP sessions by J. Robbins at the Magpie Cage in Baltimore, MD. Originally appeared as the B-side of the “I Used To Draw” 7” which was self-released on March 23, 2021. This song was written by Wild Pink and first appears on their self-titled record, released February 24, 2017 on Tiny Engines.
Track 7 - “Wait For Hours”
Recorded in the spring of 2023 by Chris Baglivo at Front Porch Studios in Pittsburgh, PA and Jamtown in Philadelphia, PA. This song originally appeared on a split 7” with ANORAK! from Tokyo, Japan and was released on February 26th, 2024 by Shore & Woods Recordings.
Track 8 - “Blood of the Sun”
Recorded in March of 2022 by Ryan Williamson at Front Porch Studios in Pittsburgh, PA. Mixed by Chris Baglivo. Originally appeared on a split 7” with Pohgoh, released in late 2022 by Tor Johnson Records for their 20th Anniversary subscription series. This song was written by Pohgoh and first appears on their record Secret Club, released September 7, 2018 on New Granada Records.
Track 11 - “Whole Half Century”
Recorded in the fall of 2015 during the At This Age LP sessions by Matt Jordan, Evan Weiss and Adam Beck at Atlas Studios and Emaciated Raiden in Chicago, IL. Remixed by Matt Jordan in October 2024.
Track 12 - “Alchemy Hour (live at Audiotree)”
Recorded August 29, 2019 for a live broadcast at Audiotree in Chicago, IL. Thank you to Audiotree for giving us access to this performance and allowing us to press it to vinyl for the first time.
Digital-only track - "Alchemy Hour - First Demo"
Recorded live by Dave Polster in the Stern family basement in February 2015 during the At This Age demo sessions. Re-mixed at the end of 2024.
