Japan's Wilson Pickett, the incomparable soul singer Masakazu Sunagawa. This 7-inch version of a cover (1978 live version) of Sam Cooke's classic 'A Change Is Gonna Come' is as if it became his own. This is a Japanese cover of 'A Change Is Gonna Come' from a 1978 live performance with Nasty Chain, his first solo band after the breakup of Sooo Baad Revue, which had made a name for itself. The vocals seem to penetrate from the earth to the sky, and the tension-filled performance is overwhelming. The B-side is a cover of Wilson Pickett's 'Something You Got' from a live session with Cold Rubbish featuring Masaki Ueda and Yoshiro Hagiwara, an original member of South to South. The generous sense of rhythm and the extension of the voice are the quintessence of Masakazu Sunagawa.
