His 4th solo album drills down (baby) on a dryly parallax worldview, with songs about all those people he loves and all the crazy things they get up to. As ringmaster for a circus show of classic folk and rock tropes, Cory tugs at our heartstrings with expert misdirection, embracing tradition by throwing it out, into the wind.

On his new album Autofiction, Far Caspian's Joel Johnston is learning to make peace with the cards he’s been dealt. Following his Crohn’s disease diagnosis in 2021, Johnston felt stuck mourning the loss of his life before, and struggling to cope with not only his new reality, but also an ongoing battle with OCD and anxiety. Autofiction finds the Irish musician discovering the tools he needs to keep moving forward. “I’m now at the point where I don't really let it define me,” he says. “The lyric ‘your mind changed from a fear to a song’ [on ‘Lough’] is my expression of freedom: to no longer be held down by something you’ve got used to. I’m trying to not even make sense of it all, but just live in it, and be grateful for the things I do have.”

Men in Love is a collaborative concept album by Irvine Welsh and The Sci-Fi Soul Orchestra, exploring the complexities of love, relationships, and the human condition. The album blends classic Motown and disco influences with contemporary electronic dance production, creating a unique and powerful sound that is both nostalgic and fresh. The album will be released concurrently with Welsh's new novel, also titled Men in Love. The book is a sequel to Welsh's seminal work, Trainspotting, and continues the story of Renton, Sick Boy, Spud, Begbie, and other beloved characters. The album serves as a sonic companion to the novel, with it's themes, lyrics, and musical atmosphere reflecting the experience and inner turmoil of it's characters. Philly's constant hitmaker, critical darling, and songwriter/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Kurt Vile, returns with his upcoming collaborative EP with Nashville songsmith Luke Roberts, "Classic Love." Kurt and Luke were admirers of one another after meeting on MySpace years ago, and this release highlights both of their distinctive musical styles. "classic love" was written by Luke, "hit of the highlife" by Kurt, "slow talkers `22" is a re-work from Kurt's 2008 debut album and "wildflower" is a Beach House cover.

Veronica Electronica, an eight-track companion to Ray of Light, was originally envisioned by Madonna as a remix album in 1998. The project was ultimately sidelined by the original album’s runaway success and the parade of hit singles that dominated the spotlight for more than a year. Ray of Light went on to sell over 16 million copies worldwide and earned Madonna four Grammy® Awards, including Best Pop Album. More than 25 years later, that long-rumored concept finally comes to life. The collection features newly edited versions of club remixes by Sasha, BT, and Victor Calderone, along with the original demo of “Gone, Gone, Gone”—a previously unreleased recording produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels.

Double Life, the fourth Night Moves album and first in six years, is a cozy and cool LP built largely from a string of very rough breaks that singer John Pelant and Night Moves have navigated in recent years. Pelant is the sort of songwriter who starts with the music—inspired of late by Glen Campbell and Bobby Caldwell, Cleaners from Venus and early ’90s country, Panda Bear and (as ever) Gram Parsons—and then writes lyrics only after he’s sat with the tune a spell. But this time, these songs are direct documents of Pelant’s life as he searches for silver linings or at least valuable meanings during a moment when very little seemed golden. Double Life is about moving through, not moving on.

Patty Griffin’s new album, Crown of Roses, is a deeply personal and introspective work that explores themes of identity, nature, family, and womanhood. Emerging from a creative drought during the pandemic, Griffin—two-time Grammy winner and Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement honoree—found herself reevaluating the stories she’d long told herself. Snipe Hunter is the highly anticipated new album from singer-songwriter Tyler Childers. Comprised of thirteen songs, the release marks Childers’ seventh studio album, and the follow up to his Grammy-nominated, critically acclaimed Rustin’ In The Rain . All songs were written by Childers, and the album was produced by 9x Grammy winner Rick Rubin.
