Internationally acclaimed saxophonist and EWI player Seamus Blake is well regarded as one of the greatest living saxophonists, and an artist with a deep background in jazz, rock, experimental and groove-oriented music. Seamus, a winner of the prestigious Thelonius Monk competition for saxophone, is a true renaissance man, having lived all over the world from Vancouver to NYC, Amsterdam to Rome, and Porto to Paris. He has a truly international audience and currently lives in Cologne, Germany which acts as his base. Seamus Blake spent the last few years touring the world and playing sold out stadiums in dozens of countries as the lead improvising musician and saxophone player with Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. For this debut on Cellar Music Group, Seamus leads an all star band featuring Sam Yahel (Joshua Redman, Norah Jones), Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie) and Corey Fonville (Butcher Brown, Nicholas Payton) with guest vocals from soul singer Dawn Pemberton. The album, an homage to the music of the legendary innovator and saxophonist Eddie Harris, was Produced by multiple Juno winner Scott Morin and Grammy winning Producer Cory Weeds, and will be supported by international tour dates throughout 2026 and a North American jazz fest tour in 2027. Famed publicist Lydia Liebman and radio promoter Lisa Reedy are handling press and promo. This is a long-planned and anticipated debut for Cellar Music from one of Vancouver's most legendary jazz musicians.
