Rob-O (InI) releases his long-awaited first official solo single!InI is a legendary crew of underground hip-hop in the 90s. Rob-O is a central member of the group, known for the masterpiece 'Center of Attention' produced by Pete Rock, which is still talked about today. After InI disbanded, Rob-O had been away from the public eye, but he has finally restarted as a full-fledged solo artist. He will release his first official solo single. The single was produced by France-based producer/beatmaker Lex (de Kalhex). He is a beatmaker who is supported by listeners around the world from the European hip-hop scene with his boom-bap style that combines jazz, soul, and literary lyricism. This is his first collaboration with Rob-O since 'La Fine Ligne' released under the name Kalhex in 2012. This is the lead single from Rob-O's first official solo album 'I Hear Voices'. The voice that reaches us after a long silence awakens the soul of real hip-hop. The 'sound context' that supports the return of the legends-who are Rob-O, Lex (de Kalhex), and InI?In 2025, the legends of the past have quietly but surely returned. Rob-O's voice resonates once again in the scene, with the atmosphere of 90s hip-hop intact. When talking about his solo comeback, it is essential to mention his roots, InI, and his current creative partner, *Lex (de Kalhex)*. Who is InI?InI is a hip-hop group from New York that was active in the mid-90s. The members are Rob-O, Grap Luva, Marco Polo (no relation to the producer of the same name), Ras G, and Pete Rock as support. InI was originally a project formed during the production process of Pete Rock's solo album 'Soul Survivor' and it is said that he formed it to introduce the talents of his brother Grap Luva and his companion Rob-O to the world. The album 'Center of Attention' completed in 1995, missed the timing of it's commercial release and has been passed down among bootleg and enthusiasts as a 'phantom masterpiece' for many years. It was finally released officially by BBE Records in 2003. It was instantly re-evaluated as 'the best unreleased classic of the 90s,' and is now established as an immortal masterpiece among Boom Bap fans. Rob-O was a central MC among them, and was highly praised for his calm speaking style and sharp observational skills, but after InI disbanded, he quietly disappeared from the scene. Who is Lex (de Kalhex)?Meanwhile, French beatmaker/producer Lex (de Kalhex) is supporting Rob-O's new chapter in terms of sound. Lex is known as a member of the French hip-hop group Kalhex, and has been a driving force in the European underground scene since the 2000s. Kalhex's music is characterized by it's jazz and soul-based instrumental aesthetic, meticulous sampling, and philosophical lyrics. While rooted in Boom Bap, it develops poetic and lyrical soundscapes. Lex is also highly regarded as a producer, and has collaborated with many international artists. In 2012, he released a collaboration song with Rob-O, 'La Fine Ligne,' under the name Kalhex, which gave a sense of new possibilities for Rob-O, who had already stopped performing at the time. About 10 years have passed since then, and this time it was Lex who provided beats entirely for Rob-O, finally leading him to his official solo debut. A sound that connects history and the presentInI left behind not just a classic album, but a timeless standard. And it is Lex and other elite European artists who are bridging that gene to the present day. Rob-O's solo single is not just a 'comeback'. It is a reconstruction of the voice that was perfected in the 90s but was not heard, now at a time when it can resonate firmly. The past and the present overlap, and the context of the sound becomes a single line. That is the true value of this release. Listening to Rob-O's voice now is synonymous with touching the history of hip-hop once again. Rob-O's work has left a strong impression with his tight and smooth flow, sincere and real rhymes, and warm vocal quality, and has gained cult popularity among hip-hop heads. Although he distanced himself from the public eye after the breakup of InI, his work has been reevaluated over the years, and he has been respected by many MCs and producers. In the 2010s, he attracted renewed attention across borders through his collaboration with French group Kalhex on 'La Fine Ligne' (2012). After a long silence, he has now fully launched as a solo artist. He is scheduled to release his first official solo single, followed by his first solo album, 'I Hear Voices'.
