George Fontaine, Sr.-, head of Strolling Bones Records, recently discovered a golden nugget of unreleased material from previously unknown band One Mississippi. Formed from the detritus of Austin, Texas indie buzz bands of the 90’s, and a precursor to current climber Molecular Steve, the album explodes with punk pop energy and deft songwriting by front man Ron Byrd (Prescott Curlywolf). Recorded in Austin from 2004 through 2007 and aging gracefully since, his talented band gives the songs drive and depth. Featuring 13 compact head shakers, Fontaine maintains that “This is the best album of unreleased material I have ever heard”.
