Mophing People is a unit consisting of Makoto Miyoshi of rumania montevideo, which has been revived this year, and Litsuko, a former member of Japanese rock legend Shonen Knife. 'mophing people is a unit consisting of Makoto Miyoshi of rumania montevideo, who made a comeback this year, and Litsuko, a former member of the Japanese rock legend Shonen Knife. Their debut LP 'mppp' made an impact on indie grunge rock fans around the world. Both Makoto Miyoshi and Litsuko are songwriters, but this time, support members Kazunobu Majima and Renta-P also participated in the songwriting, showing their side as a 'creative group,' while Maenosono Masaki of 8otto joined the live support members, adding to the depth of the live band. The mix and mastering of the lead songs M1 and M2 was done by Tsutomu Hatada, drummer of FOUR TRIPS, who has become an indispensable part of mophing people's sound. Side A starts with 'Kidding Myself,' which has an impressive guitar riff reminiscent of THE STROKES. A number of attractive hooks are wrapped in a melodic and groovy pop song. It started with Makoto Miyoshi playing a riff in the rehearsal studio, and Kazunobu Mashima, who was with him at the time, also participated in the songwriting. The nextsong, 'LUCY,' combines a lo-fi pop melody with a roaring guitar explosion. Kazunobu Mashima also participated in the songwriting. The B-side includes 'Fishing Park,' a song that evokes the ripples of the ocean. Makoto Miyoshi wrote it while fishing in the ocean. Litsuko wrote the lyrics with the image of 'Fishing Park in Hikari City, Yamaguchi Prefecture,' where Miyoshi lives. The EP ends with 'If You Want Me To Be Yours,' which has an impressive guitar riff and atmosphere like RADIOHEAD. It retains the unique sound of MOPHING PEOPLE, but also reminds us of SONIC YOUTH. But there are also some clearly Japanese elements added. Written and composed by Renta-P, a supporting member. 'Alternative ep 2' is a work that highlights the new parts of MOPHING PEOPLE. It offers good quality alternative indie rock and grunge.
