Monaco (originally released in 2000) is the self-titled second and final studio album by Monaco, following their debut album Music for Pleasure (1997). Now 25 years after it's original release, the album is finally available again-on CD and, for the first time ever, on vinyl. Monaco was a side project (1995-2000) of Joy Division and New Order bass player Peter Hook, alongside David Potts, the sole remaining member of Revenge. The album reflects Hook and Potts' shared passion for blending rock with electronic and dance music. While it retains some of the melodic sensibilities and bass-driven grooves reminiscent of New Order, it establishes it's own distinct identity with a rawer, more introspective tone. The album balances darker, introspective lyrics with upbeat tempos and catchy hooks-a hallmark of Hook's work. David Potts takes on lead vocals, delivering emotive performances that complement the songs' mood. The album features the single I've Got A Feeling and the beat-driven track See Saw, whose bittersweet lyrics and lush instrumentation make it a centerpiece of the album. For vinyl enthusiasts, this 25th-anniversary expanded edition comes in a deluxe gatefold 2LP set, pressed on minty ice-green coloured vinyl. This version includes a 4-page booklet and five bonus tracks and is limited to 2,000 individually numbered copies. The expanded CD edition will be presented in a 2CD digisleeve, featuring a 16-page booklet and no fewer than 13 bonus tracks - a definitive edition for collectors and fans alike.
