Mike Younger Burning The Big Top Down
In 2001 Jim Dickerson began producing Mike Younger’s second album which never saw the light of day, as the record label collapsed before production was completed. The original Memphis sessions featured rock legends Levon Helm on drums, Spooner Oldham on keyboard and organ, David Hood on bass, Jim Dickerson on pianoi and his son Luther Dickenson on electric guitar. The tapes from those sessions were lost in legal limbo for almost two decades. In 2017, Mike was able to recover the tapes and begin the long process of completing Burning Down the Big Top and cleaning up unresolved issues surrounding the record. With the release of the album, Mike Younger’s journey to reclaim his lost work finally comes full circle.
