With their third album, Lords of Lounge further develop their unique approach, blending 60s-inspired classic easy listening, subtle dad-rock energy and improvisational freedom. Compared to their first two releases, this album sounds noticeably more melancholic and profound, underpinned by stronger, more finely crafted melodies. The music remains relaxed and understated – yet simultaneously gains emotional depth. Guitars weave together in delicate dialogues, with bass and drums forming a warm, precise foundation as the tracks unfold organically. Tracks like “Juan les Pins” thrive on elegant, alternating guitar work, whilst “Be Right Bach” creates a calm, timeless atmosphere with an almost classical feel and contrapuntal lines. “Low” impresses with the tight interplay between bass and drums, whilst “The Beginning” showcases a different side of the band with warm distortion and a laid-back rock groove. Overall, the album feels bigger, warmer and more melodic than its predecessors – without ever coming across as calculated or overproduced.
