Wild saxophone punks Edging return on their third album, "Unload Your Shame". Kinks against cops, horny for riots
Zealous Chicago punks Edging may not exactly be on the tip of everyone's tongues when considering some of the most exciting new bands out there, but they have the energy and determination to do as much as they can on their own, in their own way, and remain completely unique. They have already self-released two LPs and done several tours on their own, as well as with the likes of Lambrini Girls, Bushfire, not to mention an upcoming run with Amal & the Sniffers this fall. They manage to be incredibly fun and light-hearted while simultaneously aggressive and rowdy. But they have so much more to offer between expert musicianship that combines skill with spontaneity, and a lyrical disposition towards very direct and confrontational stance against the ills of the world.
Now Edging drop their third album that takes everything they have done to date and pushes it into their most realized material yet, furthering their special kind of saxophone-powered wild punk rock. "Unload Your Shame" plays on the sexualized kitsch of previous efforts, but also ties sections of the record together through clever video game samples and interludes. Edging recorded the album in Summer of 2025 and fine-tuned it to give it the perfect blend of raw power and clarity to hear all the sounds going on. But by and large the songs are short, the music is fast, the vocals are howled, and saxophone is wailing.
Being co-released through Hex Records and the band's own Dick Jail Records, Edging hope to reach a wider and more varied audience through collaboration.
