Dwarves return with "Damned If I Do," the first single from the upcoming album JENKEM.
For more than four decades, Dwarves have built a reputation on chaos, controversy, rotating lineups, banned records, public feuds, fake deaths, and performances that often seemed one bad decision away from collapse. Through all of it, Blag Dahlia has remained at the center of the circus, steering one of punk's most unpredictable institutions through countless eras, labels, and scandals while continuing to release records at a pace most bands half their age can't match. Now the band returns to Rad Girlfriend with a new 7" built around "Damned If I Do," the first single from the upcoming Dwarves full-length, JENKEM. The release continues the rollout for the new album while adding another chapter to the band's long history of collectible singles, limited pressings, and off-the-rails releases that have followed them since the Sub Pop years. The lineup once again pulls from the extended cast of Dwarves lifers and collaborators that have drifted in and out of the band for years. Stories involving HeWhoCannotBeNamed, onstage destruction, industry backlash, and deliberate hoaxes helped cement the group as one of punk rocks most notorious acts long before most modern bands played their first basement show. The B-side, "The Cougars," shifts focus to a Blag Dahlia composition featuring Scott H. Biram, bringing another longtime outsider into the Dwarves orbit. The collaboration fits naturally within the band's history of pulling together unlikely guests, underground veterans, and musicians from across punk, garage, country, hardcore, and metal scenes without ever slowing down the momentum.Released by Rad Girlfriend Records, this 7" stands as another document of the Dwarves doing exactly what they've always done: creating trouble, dragging friends into the process, and leaving behind another limited piece of an ongoing legacy.
