Chevalier Ancient Metal Attack
CHEVALIER has shifted focus to writing and recording music since 2020. The band has played only one show since then -- a mid-June 2022 gig in their native Helsinki. CHEVALIER instead has opted to hunker down on the music for the eventual second full-length album. CHEVALIER drummer Axel initially laid down his tracks in Stockholm two years ago. But since no shows loomed on the horizon after Axel cut his drums, the members of CHEVALIER opted to take their time in completing the songs. The release was produced and mixed by guitarist Mikko. The timing of Ancient Metal Attack's release suggests that it was designed to preview CHEVALIER's upcoming second album. Guitarist and founding member Tommi says that assumption isn't too far off. In some ways, yes. None of the tracks are to be re-recorded for the album, but 'Ancient Metal Attack' will showcase a bit different sounding CHEVALIER with more precise and intricate performance, mostly thanks to the updated drum section and recording without time limitations. Both the original tracks are, however, fairly old, written years ago. CHEVALIER's Destiny Calls first full-length was released in 2019. In 2020, the band issued the Life And Death EP and appeared on Gates Of Hell's Iron And Hell Vol. 1 compilation in 2021. CHEVALIER is rounded out by vocalist Emma Grönqvist and bassist Sebastian Bergman.
