Japanese legends Boris are celebrating the 20 Year Anniversary of landmark albums Pink and dronevil -example- with special deluxe reissue out October 17 on Relapse.

The original release was based on the concept of playing two separate records simultaneously.
This -example- version features a stereo mix of the paired tracks, creating a reference "example."
The single "a bao a qu," also released 20 years ago, has been mixed with drone disc material and added as a bonus track.

About "dronevil -example-"
The album dronevil was created with the concept of playing two discs on separate players and speakers, allowing each listener to mix them in the air of the room at a balance that felt comfortable to them.
Because it was a very conceptual work in which the musical experience would differ each time depending on factors such as volume balance, playback timing, and the distance from each sound, even at the time of its release there were many listeners who could not easily experience it. Although it was highly acclaimed and popular as an experimental work, it had long been out of print, and thus was difficult to obtain for fans who came to know Boris in more recent years.
In order for new listeners as well to hear it widely as both a masterpiece and an introduction to experimental + drone metal, we have decided to release it this time as dronevil -example-.
As the title suggests, this is only one example of a reference for playback, but first of all we hope you will simply enjoy the quality of the music itself.
