Benny Reid 93 'til Infinity B/w Day One
Benny's follow-up to "The Infamous Live" is designed as a true A and B side-two halves of a whole, representing yin and yang. It features two of his all-time favorite beats: one lush and rich, the other hard-hitting. Reimagining classic records like D.I.T.C.'s "Day One" and Souls Of Mischief's "93 'Til Infinity" comes with significant responsibility, and the weight of this project was substantial. The time and energy spent dissecting, rearranging, and recording were anything but trivial. Every element was handled with care to honor these timeless originals properly. Reid is a forward-thinking jazz musician with a bent toward mixing expansive post-bop improvisation with atmospheric contemporary jazz styles. He released his first two albums on the prestigious Concord label and has been working with Fat Beats to create interesting, progressive tributes to the hip-hop albums that defined his youth.
